Welcome to the RC Car Club! I'm very excited to sponsor this club. Our goal is for the students to have fun racing and learning about "hobby grade" remote control cars. The scales of the cars that will work on our short off-road track course (built on the baseball diamond, see video below) are 1:10, 1:12, 1:14, or 1:16. Please no cars that are 1:8 or larger scale! The car must be designed for off-road racing. Students who do not have a "hobby grade" off-road cars can join the club but be aware that the sponsor will not be responsible for broken cars. It is highly recommended that members use a hobby grade car because it allows parts to be replaced. The cars sold by the major department stores usually do not sell replacement parts if car parts break. Here is a link to the site that sells cars and provides beginners guide to RC Cars. The key points to focus on while you are reading the beginners guide are the following:
- Nitro cars are not permitted on our track due to safety and noise
issues, Only Electric Powered Cars Are Permitted.
- Ready-to-Run (RTR), these cars come built with a remote control and battery. All you have to do is simply charge the battery and it is ready to go!
- Battery types. The type of batteries can determine how fast your car will travel. One fully charged battery will last about 20 to 30 minutes on our course.
- Scale of the car. Our course is good for 1:10 scale or smaller.

How to Design a Race Track (...under construction)
There are 200 feet of tubing that can be used to make borders for the race track. You can design your track using a string and taking a photo. Then simply post it to this site(more info to come). Use 1 cm equal to 1 feet scale. One to three ramps can be used on the race track. We are responsible to clean up after each meeting so that HCYP baseball teams can practice on the field. So, less digging for ramps, the easier the clean up!
